UPITER, Fla. -- A woman was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of her husband.
Donna Horwitz, 65, was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder just six days after her husband, Lanny Horwitz, was found dead in a home in the Admiral's Cove gated development in Jupiter.
Jupiter police were initially called to the home Friday morning to investigate a suicide, but they later determined it was a homicide.
Police said Donna Horwitz fatally shot her husband.
"Evidence at the scene led us to believe that it was domestic-related," Sgt. Scott Pascarella said.
Lanny Horwitz, 66, was an attorney.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
