A North Side woman is in jail this morning, charged with the stabbing death of her boyfriend last night, Columbus police said.
Alesia Sheppard, 40, admitted that she stabbed Larry Edwards, 62, at her home at 2315 Argyle Dr., police said.
Sheppard called 911 at 11:09 p.m. and said Edwards had stabbed himself. Medics took Edwards to Grant Medical Center, where he died at 11:38 p.m.
Sheppard later told police that she had stabbed him.
Police said Edwards’ death is the city's 71st homicide this year.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
