Authorities said Tuesday that a man strangled his girlfriend and then hanged himself in a murder-suicide in Bell Gardens.
The two bodies were found Monday night in the home where they lived on the 5900 block of Quinn Street.
The woman was identified by coroner’s officials as Christine Medina, 25. The man’s name had not yet been released.
He apparently strangled Medina and then hanged himself, said L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, but autopsies had not yet been performed.
Since January 2007, at least 18 homicides have been reported in Bell Gardens, according to The Times Homicide Report database.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
