Hillsborough County sheriff's officials have issued an arrest warrant for a man they say stabbed his ex-wife to death in her home early Monday morning, the St. Petersburg Times reported.
Nicole Williams, 36, was killed in the bedroom of her home at 12808 Lake Vista Drive in southeastern Hillsborough County shortly after 4 a.m.
Officials named the suspect as Egan Atkins, 34, who has no known address. He and Williams are divorced, said sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway.
Officials said Atkins broke into Williams' home through a ground-floor window, grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attacked Williams as she slept.
Atkins drove off in a vehicle that he later abandoned at a home in the Bloomingdale area, Callaway said.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Atkins on charges of first-degree murder and armed burglary of an occupied dwelling.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
