STOCKTON — The 58-year-old man fatally shot last Saturday west of Victory Park, allegedly by a woman he had been dating, was identified Friday as Tim McMahan, authorities said.
Prosecutors say McMahan was driving his girlfriend, 48-year-old Genevia Walker, in the 1900 block of Monte Diablo Avenue at 6:14 a.m. last Saturday when Walker, riding in the back seat, fired a gun.
McMahan stopped and got out of the vehicle and was hit in the head by a second shot.
McMahan was taken to a hospital. He died Wednesday.
Walker, arrested immediately after the shooting, has been charged with murder. She was being held in the County Jail in lieu of $2.17 million bail.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
