Authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Titus County, Texas. The victims are a co-worker and the girlfriend of the shooter, Investigators said.
The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the VOCNET company on County Road 2100.
Titus County Sheriff Tim Ingram said an employee, Lee Boyd, 48 shot his co-worker Junior Lee Horton, 35, and then turned the gun on himself. The men had gotten into an argument the day before, Ingram said.
Investigators later searched Boyd's home and found the body of his girlfriend, Vivian Mitchell. Authorities believe Boyd killed her before going to work.
Boyd was looking for a third victim, Mitchell's ex-boyfriend, but could not find him, Ingram said.
The VOCNET company trains people with physical or mental impairments to join the workforce.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
