Lubbock, TX: 60-year-old woman booked into jail Tuesday for murder

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock murder suspect is back in town and locked up in the county jail. Sheriff's Deputies brought Carol Nussbaum back to Lubbock Tuesday night from Stephenville, where she now lives.

Nussbaum is charged with the murder of Paul Brown, 48, who was found dead in his pickup truck in November 2009 at the Boulders of Lakeridge Apartments, 82nd & Quaker.

Officers in Stephenville attempted to arrest Nussbaum December 1st but instead found her unresponsive in her residence. She spent time in the Intensive Care Unit of a Stephenville hospital, but officials have not given specific details as to why she was unresponsive.

Nussbaum's attorney has indicated that Brown's killing may have been self defense, saying that Nussbaum had been the victim of domestic violence.

As of Tuesday night jail records did not a list an amount that Nussbaum could post as bond in order to be released from jail.
