The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a 31-year-old Indianapolis woman found inside her residence at 2309 South Hunter Road.
A relative had gone to the home to talk to the woman and became suspicious when she did not answer the door. A key was obtained from the landlord who lived nearby. The woman was found dead inside the house.
According to metro police, the woman apparently lived alone. Her body was found just after 4 p.m. Thursday. It was unknown how long she had been dead. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
The incident is being investigated in the same manner as a homicide but has been labeled as a death investigation until further information is obtained. A "person of interest" that was being sought earlier has been located and was detained for questioning. Family members of the deceased are still being notified.
The name of the victim and further details about the investigation should be available Friday.
