IRVING — An Irving man was in custody Thursday on suspicion that he strangled his wife during a domestic dispute at their home, police said.
The victim, Betty Miller, 66, died Wednesday several hours after the attack during surgery at an Irving hospital.
Police arrested Calvin Miller, 68, at the scene about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Glenwood Drive. He was in the Irving Jail Thursday on suspicion of murder.
Officers responded to the residence on a domestic assault call.
When officers arrived, Betty Miller was found unconscious on a floor, police said.
Police did not release any information on what prompted the assault.

A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
