A woman was jailed on a second-degree murder complaint after her husband fell from the 25th floor of the University Club tower to his death Tuesday afternoon, police said.
An argument between the couple preceded the man's 17-story fall to the parking garage below, Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker.
Amber Michelle Hilberling, 19, was booked into the Tulsa Jail later Tuesday with bail set at $500,000.
Police were called to the high-rise apartment building at 1722 S. Carson Ave. shortly after 4 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Joshua Hilberling, 23, on top of the parking garage that encircles the bottom of the structure and an open window on the 25th floor, Walker said.
He said the couple had argued before Joshua Hilberling fell out the living room window.
According to Amber Hilberling's arrest report, she pushed her husband, causing him to fall through the window. Amber Hilberling also "made statements to witnesses that she pushed the victim and that caused him to fall through the window," according to the report.
Walker said evidence at the scene was sufficient to arrest her on the murder complaint.
Joshua Hilberling filed a protective order against Amber Hilberling on May 10, but it was dismissed when neither party appeared in court, records state.
Resident Mina White, who said she lives on the bottom floor of apartments, near where Joshua Hilberling landed, said she felt the building shake when he hit the parking garage.
"I thought it was an earthquake, then I looked outside," White said.
Tuesday's death was the second time in a month that someone has fallen from the high-rise.
The death last month was ruled a suicide, police said.
