TUCSON, Ariz.—Police have identified the woman killed in a murder-suicide earlier this month in Tucson as a German citizen. Detectives also have determined that Sabine Schulte used a gun to kill her boyfriend before fatally shooting herself.
Police say the 47-year-old Schulte couldn't be identified sooner because she didn't have any fingerprint files or medical records in the United States. She was identified through dental records with help from the German Consulate in Los Angeles. The bodies of Schulte and 62-year-old Richard Posner of Tucson were found inside a home March 12 after the landlord called 911 to report she hadn't heard from the tenant for several days.
Investigators say Schulte and Posner were involved in a romantic relationship, but the circumstances leading up to the murder-suicide still are under investigation.
