DAMASCUS TWP. - An apparent murder-suicide in a Cemetery Road home left two people dead and a third injured early Monday morning.
Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards called the incident a "case of domestic violence" that ended with the death of Kristina Sue Adams, 29, of Damascus Township from a gunshot wound and Rodney Ezrapour, 56, who owned property in both Damascus Township and New York City, of "what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound," according to a news release.
The shooting occurred in a home on Cemetery Road and also left Tobias Johannes, 37, with a gunshot wound to his arm. He is currently being treated at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, according to the release.
Few details of what led to the shooting were released other than the district attorney's characterization of the incident as being a case of domestic violence.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
