CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in Cleveland say a man fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and 6-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.
It happened late Monday on the city’s northeast side. A police commander said a 24-year-old man, 22-year-old woman and 6-year-old girl were found dead outside the home. The man and woman were the parents of the child.
The county coroner’s office identified them Tuesday as Demar Perry, Nakisha Jackson and their child, Kammia Perry.
Police say Demar Perry took them outside at gunpoint before the shootings. Media reports said three other people were at the house at the time, but nobody else was hurt.
Police haven’t discussed a motive.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
