Anniston -
A double shooting has now left 2 people dead. This morning, 83-year old Annise Zimmerman died at Anniston's Regional Medical Center from a gunshot to the head. Sunday, police found 73-year old Geneva Bridges shot dead and Zimmerman inside a home in the 600 block of West 13th St.
Investigators have classified the case as a death investigation, but say all signs point to a murder suicide.
Neighbors say Zimmerman and Bridges had been a couple for many years and had no obvious signs of problems. However, neighbors also say Zimmerman had been sick for sometime. Sally Morris tells ABC 33/40 Zimmerman had a bit a of jealous streak and had been feeling "down and out"
"He told me he was going to do something to himself," said Morris" I told him 'don't do that' " She told him he would get better.
"I think he just snapped."
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
