West Palm Beach, FL: Man gets 4 years for wife's death

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A South Florida man has been sentenced to four years in prison for the death of his wife.

Palm Beach County prosecutors made a deal with 53-year-old Jorge Borges on Monday after a judge granted Borges' motion to suppress statements he gave to authorities after his arrest. Borges had been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in March 2007.

Authorities say Borges was first arrested after he forged his dead wife's signature on Social Security checks for her disabled daughter. He's already served six months for the forgery conviction.

Borges insisted after his arrest that he was somewhere else when his wife was killed.
