HAMPSTEAD, Md. (AP) - Maryland state police say a trooper shot and killed a woman after she pointed a gun at him during a confrontation at a home in Hampstead.
State police were called to the home around 5:40 p.m. Monday because of domestic dispute. Police say a second emergency call said a 40-year-old woman had a gun and was threatening to kill herself.
Police say the woman, who lived with her sister, pointed the gun at the state trooper from a window and refused to put it down. The trooper then shot her.
She was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead. Police did not immediately release her name or the name of the trooper.
No other injuries were reported.
