KOPPERSTON, W.Va. -- Wyoming County authorities are investigating the fatal shootings of three family members in a double murder-suicide.
Sheriff Randall Aliff told WCHS-TV that 54-year-old James Maynard II shot his 50-year-old wife Tammy and 25-year-old son Chad with a 9mm semiautomatic pistol, and then shot himself.
Aliff says another family member found the bodies Monday afternoon in a mobile home in the community of Crany near Kopperston.
Police haven't determined a motive. The bodies have been sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
