ORANGE – A 69-year-old man was found dead early Monday morning on the sidewalk outside his home, police said.
Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams said Richard Charles Roby was found by his wife at 5:25 a.m. lying on the sidewalk outside the couple's home in the 4900 block of East
Adams said the couple reportedly had an argument Sunday evening and the wife left the home at about 6 p.m. to go spend the night with relatives and returned home early the next morning.
"She found her husband lying on sidewalk unresponsive and called 911," Adams said.
Emergency personnel arrived and declared Roby dead of an apparent gun shot wound to the head. Adams said a gun was found nearby.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Scott Trausch at 714-744-7444.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
