LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- A tragic discovery in Camp County, as what investigators thought was a missing persons case, turns out to be a homicide.
Authorities say Terry Morse, 72, went missing Wednesday night from her home on FM 557 about 15 miles east of Pittsburg. A lengthy search of the area by law enforcement produced nothing.
On Friday, the woman's body was found behind a gun safe in the master bedroom.
Johnnie Morse, 75, was taken into custody and charged with his wife's death.
According to Camp County authorities, there is no apparent cause of death at this time.
An autopsy has been ordered.
Neighbors say the couple had been married more than 50 years.
Mr. Morse remains in custody and a $100,000 bond has been set.
