CIRCLE PINES, Minn. (AP) -- Anoka County authorities have confirmed the deaths of a Circle Pines man and his ex-girlfriend were a murder-suicide.
Police found the bodies of 36-year-old Jesse David Oakley and 26-year-old Nicole Marie Meier of Blaine at Oakley's town house on Wednesday. Both had died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Authorities say Meier had gone to Oakley's home to collect some back rent money. The sheriff's office says Meier's co-workers were aware that she did not want to meet him at his town home alone. When she did not show up for work, they called 911.
Investigators concluded that Meier was the first person shot, followed by Oakley.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
