AINSWORTH, Neb. (AP) - A manslaughter charge has been filed against a 73-year-old rural Ainsworth man accused of killing his wife.
Court records say Ray O'Mara (oh-MEHR'-uh) also is charged with assault in the death of 73-year-old Pat O'Mara.
Brown County Attorney David Streich (STRYK) has said Pat O'Mara died Jan. 15 at a Kearney hospital as a result of blunt-force trauma. Streich added the manslaughter charge after getting autopsy results.
There is no public phone listing for the O'Maras. Ray O'Mara's attorney, Rodney Palmer, declined to comment on Thursday.
O'Mara's next court hearing is scheduled for Feb. 16.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
