PHOENIX -- A man facing trial in the murder of his wife pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Tuesday.
Primitivo Madrigal Almonte told investigators he shot his wife because she was "trying to poison him."
The shooting happened near 43rd Avenue and Van Buren Street in April 2009.
Almonte was found with blood stains on his shirt. His wife's body and shell casings were found inside the family car.
Police said Almonte is mentally disturbed and has a history of domestic violence.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
