WORCESTER — A West Street man was arrested yesterday on assault charges in connection with the death of a 24-year-old woman Tuesday.
Jamaal F. Dottin, 29, of 76 West St., Apt. 1R, was arrested yesterday around 5 p.m. at police headquarters and charged with domestic assault and battery and assault to murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Worcester Central District Court.
Police said Mr. Dottin was arrested a day after his girlfriend, Kristi M. LeClair, with whom he lived, was found dead. About 3 a.m. Tuesday police went to 76 West St. for a report of a woman not breathing. Mr. Dottin was in the apartment when paramedics, firefighters and police arrived
Detectives investigated the scene and interviewed several people. The medical examiner's office conducted an autopsy; results are pending, police said. Police continue to investigate the death
