GREECE, N.Y. (AP) — A 45-year-old father of two admits he fatally stabbed his estranged girlfriend and mother of his children.
Andrew Pajek pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Wednesday in the death of Kimberly Feketi of North Tonawanda in Niagara County. She was killed on Nov. 9, 2008 outside Pajek's home in the Rochester suburb of Greece. She had gone there to pick up their children after a visit with Pajek.
Pajek also stabbed and wounded a neighbor who went to Feketi's aid, then stabbed himself in a suicide attempt.
Pajek's guilty plea came as jury selection was about to conclude in his trial in Monroe County Court. He'll receive a prison term of 20 years to life when Judge Alex Renzi sentences him Oct. 14.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
