Winston-Salem, NC: Man Stabbed to Death, Woman Charged

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP)—

A Winston-Salem woman has been charged with stabbing a man to death Saturday in what police believe was a domestic violence incident.

Rebecca Lorraine Fries, 24, of 4810 Cobble Creek Cir., was arrested around 11 p.m. after being questioned at Winston-Salem Police Department headquarters.

Fries was charged with the second-degree murder of Abshard Lamar Bass, 31, of the same address as Fries. He was found by police suffering a stab wound at the couple's apartment around 5:50 p.m.

Bass was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Fries was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond.
