SANFORD — An attorney for Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger today argued that deputies did nothing wrong when they turned away two college students who showed them death threats from Andrew Allred hours before he hunted them down and shot them in their Oviedo home.
Allred, 24, of Oviedo, killed his former girlfriend, Tiffany Barwick, and friend Michael Ruschak on Sept. 24, 2007.
Allred pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and is on Florida's death row.
The victims' families filed a wrongful-death suit against Eslinger two years ago.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
