NORFOLK
A man pleaded guilty Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter for fatally shooting his girlfriend in March.
Terrance Wright, 24, gave police several explanations for what happened at the apartment he shared with Latonya Dickens in the 6100 block of Edwards St., according to a summary of evidence submitted to the court. He first said Dickens had shot herself, then said the gun went off while they were playing.
Dickens was shot in the shoulder, and the bullet passed into her chest and caused organ damage.
Wright is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
