Woman Killed; Husband Critically Injured

KANSAS CITY, Kan. --Homicide investigators were at a Kansas City, Kan., home overnight after two people were found shot there.

A 911 call came in to police about midnight, reporting shots fired in the 3500 block of North 60th Street.

When police arrived, they found Shannon Crockett, 30, shot to death. Police said they believe her husband shot her and was critically injured when he turned the gun on himself in an attempted suicide.

The man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There were children in the home sleeping at the time of the shooting, but were not harmed.

Police said the man was the target of a shooting earlier this year. In February, he was injured in a shooting in Kansas City, Kan., that left him confined to a wheelchair.
