DAYTON -- A woman is dead and her husband is expected to be taken into custody after the strangled woman's bound body was discovered Monday.

Neighbors had seen the couple in the yard on Sunday with their two children among other children the woman had been baby-sitting.

To neighbors Tim Gross and his girlfriend Hollie Dunn everything seemed normal - just like always.

Officials Monday evening still had not released the couple's name.

The woman was found dead in her bedroom on the second story of the small green house with white trim at 947 Maple St.

Late Monday, shadows of crime-scene investigators from around Northern Kentucky could be seen walking back and forth through the home.

"I've never seen a cop here before," Gross said.

There were plenty earlier.

Dunn and Gross said police were notified by a day-care center after the children were not picked up. How police came into contact with either the woman's body or her husband could not be immediately determined. Police began arriving at the home around 3 p.m. Dunn said the husband was taken to a hospital after an attempted drug overdose. He is expected to survive and be charged in his wife's death.

"You'd never think anything like this would happen in your wildest imagination," Gross said.
