SHAFTER, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Kern County investigators believe a man and woman were killed Monday night in a murder-suicide near Shafter.
The pair were found shot to death on the 29000 block of Orange Street. The coroner's office later identified the woman as 32-year-old Patricia Flores, but the man's name was withheld.
The sheriff's office said Tuesday that the pair were in a dating relationship and had a 9-month-old child. A 15-year-old boy was also at the home when the shooting happened, but the sheriff's office didn't clarify his relationship to the man and woman.
The couple lived in the home for around six months, the sheriff's office said. During that time, deputies were called to the home eight times for peace disturbances and theft reports.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
