GATESVILLE, TEXAS — A former Central Texas pastor has been jailed on a capital murder charge in the March 2011 mobile home fire that killed his wife.
David Keith Allen was in the Coryell County Jail without bond Wednesday after his arrest Tuesday night. Online jail records do not show an attorney for Allen.
The indictment handed down by the Coryell County grand jury accuses the 49-year-old minister of setting their mobile home on fire with his 54-year-old wife, Paula, inside. The mobile home was located behind the New Life Restoration Church in Gatesville, where Allen was pastor.
If convicted, Allen could be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
