LAKE NONA, Fla. -
A man shot and killed his wife and his mother-in-law Sunday night while the couple's teen sons were inside their Lake Nona home, according to Orlando police.
Elmer Banner, 43, who was taken to a hospital after being shot by a SWAT team member, faces two counts of homicide in the deaths of Debra Banner, 46, and Carol Minich, 70.
According to Orlando police, officers went to a home in the 8400 block of Northlake Parkway just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Elmer Banner shot and killed the two women, exited the home and was then shot by the SWAT team. He is in stable condition, police said.
"It's incredible. I never imagined it happening. It's very sad," said neighbor Carlos Noguera.
"It's really sad this happened in such a tight community," said neighbor Tyler Israel.
The teen boys were not injured.
A motive for the killings has not been released.
