Police have released more details in the murder-suicide in Del City involving a couple in their 80s.
Police say a .38 special revolver was taken into evidence. They also reveal the names of the couple. They are 89 year old Norbert Joseph Dixon and his wife Lois, who was 86.
The two are the parents of Oklahoma County District Judge Bryan Dixon. He is the one who found his parents when he came to check up on them yesterday morning.
According to the police report, the two were found in a back bedroom of their home on Howard Drive. They shared the home for more than 40 years.
The report states police found the handgun with 4 spent rounds and one live round still in the chamber. They also found gunshot residue and 2 spent bullets.
Judge Dixon did not wish to release a picture of his parents, but says his father did have Alzheimer's and that his father may have had a stroke that morning which proved to be too much for his mother to handle. He says the two loved each other very much and were married for more than 65 years.
Neighbors say the mother feared they would be placed in a nursing home.
