LAUDERHILL, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a gunman who opened fire on his family members inside a South Florida home, killing two and injuring another.
According to Lauderhill Police, Eric Eugene Montgomery, 28, shot and killed his wife and his teenage step-daughter, and injured his grandmother at a house along Northwest 55th Avenue in Lauderhill, Sunday.
Montgomery fled from the house ina Ford F150 after the shooting and was arrested early Monday morning at his mother's house.
Police confirm that the deceased victims are a 19-year-old woman home from college and Montgomery's 34-year-old wife.
"It's tragic and it's very sad of what happened," said Mongomery's cousin, Kina Freeman. "My condolences go out to her family."
Rescue crews transported the third victim to Broward General Hospital, with a gunshot wound to the arm. Family members said the third victim is the suspect's 74-year-old grandmother.
Police said an argument broke out inside the house prior to the shooting, but they do not have a motive. A girl and another adult were also inside the house at the time of the shooting, but were not injured.
"It's an unfortunate situation that happened. We still don't know the final details, so there's not much we can say," said Winston Blake.
