Dallas Pierce was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday morning in Elmore County Circuit Court for the 2007 shooting death of his ex-wife.
Circuit Judge Sibley Reynolds handed down the sentence.
Dallas Pierce pleaded guilty to the January 29, 2007, murder of Patricia Pierce. Dallas Pierce forced his way into her mobile home in Millbrook that morning and shot her several times in the chest with a .380-caliber handgun, court records show.
The murder occurred about seven months after the couple was divroced, said Bill Lewis, one of Pierce's attorneys.
