The Chillicothe Police Department released the names of two people found dead inside a west Chillicothe residence Monday afternoon.
According to a press release, officers responded to 1625 Polk St. in reference to a possible attempted suicide shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday. En route to the location, officers received a report stating another gunshot was heard.
When officers entered the residence, they discovered Adam Hays, 35, and his wife, Kelly Hays, 30, dead. Officers believe Mr. Hays shot his wife before turning the gun on himself after finding a single gunshot wound in each body.
Officers located a handgun believed to be the weapon involved in the incident. Officers continue to question friends and family of the couple to determine a motive, Capt. Tony Kirkendoll said.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Chillicothe Police Department at (660) 646-2121.
