ANDERSON, S.C. -- The boyfriend of a woman found dead after a fire at her home Saturday was arrested in connection with her death and the fire, Anderson County deputies said Tuesday.
The fire happened at 208 Richey St.
Deputies said they were called to the home after firefighters found the body of a woman, identified as 51-year-old Allison Pinsley, inside after the fire was put out. They said Pinsley's boyfriend, Mitchell Guigou, suffered burns in the fire and was taken to Anderson Area Medical Center and then transferred to a burn center in Augusta, Ga., because of the extent of his injuries.
Investigators said Pinsley was found with a plastic bag over her head and determined that she suffocated and did not die in the fire.
Deputies said they determined that Guigou killed Pinsley and then set the fire.
Guigou was charged with murder and third-degree arson. He was arrested by authorities in Augusta when he was released from the hospital and was brought back to Anderson County late Tuesday night, deputies said.

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
