PHOENIX -- A man accused of killing his girlfriend's friend was caught trying cross the border into Mexico, Phoenix Police said.
Since Wednesday, police said they were looking for Armando Medrano after witnesses said he shot and killed Crystal Pineda at an apartment near 25th Avenue and Highland.
Police said Medrano got into a fight with his girlfriend and during the argument he pulled out a gun and shot Pineda.
Later that evening, U.S. Customs and Border Protection called the Phoenix Police Department saying agents had caught Medrano trying to get into Mexico.
He was taken in by the U.S. Marshals Service and will be returned to Phoenix.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
