PRINGLE - Police say a woman gunned down her live-in boyfriend with a shotgun Monday night, then cleaned up, had a beer and confessed to the killing.
Kathleen Jordan left the murder scene and went to her sister's home in Luzerne, where she confessed and was arrested for the shotgun slaying, police said.
Investigators soon made a gruesome discovery at 9 Valley View Drive in Pringle - the lifeless body of Milo Reilly wrapped in a mattress pad and bed sheets in a room full of blood spatter and human tissue.
Jordan, 48, shot Reilly, 45, in the head with a pump-action shotgun at close range in a master bedroom of the first floor, the result of a simmering feud between the two, police alleged in arrest papers filed Tuesday.
Jordan and Reilly rented a basement apartment at the home and were house-sitting for the couple who owns the property and were in Florida, neighbors and family said.
Police said the incident occurred at some point between 5:15 and 10:20 p.m. when Jordan went to her sister Yvonne Adamski's home in Luzerne to tell her what happened. Adamski called 911.
When police arrived, Jordan was standing outside the Buckingham Street residence.
"Here I am. I did it. I killed a guy. I shot him. He's dead," she told the responding officer, police said.
She was then transferred to Kingston police, which provide police coverage in Pringle.
Police said Jordan would continue to confess to the crime when interviewed by detectives. They say she described her actions leading up to the murder.
According to arrest papers filed with Magisterial District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville:
Jordan told detectives she left the residence after fighting with Reilly, but later returned. She smashed a window to unlock the door and get inside. She said she retrieved a shotgun from a closet and shot Reilly in the head. She told police she "lost it."
After the shooting, Jordan said she wrapped Reilly with a mattress pad and bed sheets because she "didn't want to look at him." She said she tried to clean the room, but "she realized she did wrong" and there was "too much to clean up."
Following that, Jordan said she took a shower and put her clothes in a garbage bag. She then sat down at the kitchen table and drank a beer, thinking about "what to do."
After an hour at the home, she told police she went to her sister's house in Luzerne to tell her she "did something wrong" and that "I shot Milo and I think I killed him."
At that point of the interview with police, Jordan told authorities, "I knew I killed him," police said.
Jordan was arraigned on a criminal homicide charge Tuesday morning and jailed in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility without bail.
Jordan and Reilly were involved in a domestic dispute in December, and Reilly was charged with simple assault and harassment. Jordan claimed Reilly grabbed her by the neck and slammed her face off the ground. Jordan said she used pepper spray on Reilly to defend herself. The case was still awaiting a disposition.
On Tuesday, Reilly's sister, Kathleen Martin, 44, of Harveys Lake, said Jordan was the one who was abusive to her brother. She said he broke off their relationship, and just got back with Jordan a few weeks ago.
"He wouldn't hurt a fly," Martin said. "She Tased him, she maced him and now she shot him. I'm devastated. He was loved and he'll be missed."
Reilly worked with a local construction company, installing piping, Martin said. He loved to hunt, watch NASCAR races and spend time with his nieces, she said.
"He was a very soft-spoken man, good hearted, and would do anything for anyone. He just got hooked up with the wrong girl. Every one of his friends tried to warn him."

His sister is a liar, and she knows it. He abused all the women he was with, not the other way around. He found a woman who had as much as she could take. He was an abusive alcoholic. Go to Luzerne County PFAs for the real truth.
