MILWAUKEE
A paranoid schizophrenic who stabbed his wife and two children to death 24-years-ago in Milwaukee has been released again.
Keith Kalota was confined to Mendota Mental Health Institute from 1987 to 2003, when he was granted conditional release. But he was returned in September when he was accused of violating the terms of his conditional release in an incident involving a woman.
His attorney Robin Shellow tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that a Milwaukee County judge approved his conditional release Friday and ordered the 52-year-old to have no contact with that woman.
In 1987, Kalota killed his 28-year-old wife, his 4-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son before stabbing himself in the leg. He said God told him to do it.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
