THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Columbus police have charged a man with the fatal shooting of his girlfriend's brother during an argument Saturday night on the Near East Side.
Responding to a report of a shooting at 196 Miami Ave., police found 25-year-old Samuel Taylor, who died in Grant Medical Center a short time later.
Police blocked off the neighborhood near the intersection of E. Spring Street and Miami Avenue. Sgt. Steven Little said officers captured Shawn Robinson, 35, in a nearby alley, where they found a gun.
Robinson is charged with murder.
Family members said Saturday that Robinson shot Taylor about 7:15 p.m. after Taylor tried to break up an argument between Robinson and Taylor's sister.

(NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
