When 27-year-old Sebele Tessema and her 3-year-old daughter awoke on a beautiful Sunday morning, they never could have imagined the horror that would soon occur.
Police came to their home after a 911 call from a person reporting noises from a neighboring apartment. When law enforcement entered the apartment, the bodies of the mother and daughter were found. The cause of death, "multiple blunt force trauma with a sharp object" belies the savagery of the crime.
Within days, police issued a warrant for the arrest of Simon Bahta Asfeha, Sebele's boyfriend and her 3-year-old daughter's father, for their murders. He is nowhere to be found, and Alexandria, Va., police have turned to America's Most Wanted for help.
Asfeha has been known to use the name Simon Bahta and has no fixed address and no regular employment. He may be driving a 1999 silver Acura with Virginia license plate number XKS-1522. He may have sought refuge in the large Washington, D.C., area Ethiopian community or in a homeless shelter.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Simon Bahta Asfeha, please call our Hotline at 1-800-CRIME-TV. Remember, you can remain anonymous.
