ROWLETT, TEXAS - Rowlett Police responded to a reported shooting Thursday afternoon at 7314 B Amherst Drive. The alleged shooter Paul Gillam, 39, shot Dana Swindle, 29, several times and then fled the scene.
Police say Swindle went to the house with the intention of seeing her daughter who lives with Swindle's ex-mother in-law. Officials say Gillam and Swindle were arguing over custody of the child when Gillam started shooting.
Gillam is the boyfriend of Swindle's ex-mother in-law. He was found in Elgin. B Robertson Park near the location of the shooting.
Rowlett Fire and EMS responded to the scene, and Care Flighted Swindle to Baylor Dallas where she was pronounced dead.
The suspect Paul Gillam has been arrested and charged with murder.
