A 55-year-old Greenville County man was arrested Monday in connection with his wife's death, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
Jimmy Thurston was arrested Monday morning and charged with murder, as well as possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to Zach Hinton, public information officer for Sheriff's Office, officers responded to 203 Berkley Avenue at roughly 1:30 a.m. Monday in response to a gunshot victim.
When they arrived, they found a female victim unconcious inside the residence, with a gunshot wound, Hinton said. Kim Thurston, 53, later died from her injuries.
Hinton said the GCSO's forensics team and investigators were on scene throughout the morning.
Jimmy Thurston is now at Greenville County Detention Center. A bond has not been set at this time.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
