HUGER -- The couple in what police call a stabbing murder-suicide have been identified.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said the deceased are Devon Williams, 32, and his wife, Lesha Williams, 31, of Huger. Deputies recovered a knife they believe Devon Williams used during the incident next to Francis Marion National Forest.
Deputies said they found Lesha Williams dead in the home of a relative near where the couple lived. Devon Williams was alive when authorities found him but was pronounced dead at a Mount Pleasant hospital.
Authorities don't know why the deadly violence flared.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
