A Lake County man killed his elderly wife late Wednesday before apparently turning a gun on himself, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened about 11 p.m. at the couple's home at 7620 Arrow Lane in the Yalaha area.
Steven Parker, 65, called Lake dispatchers and told them he had just killed his wife and intended to kill himself. He explained that his wife, Kathryn Parker, 78, had Alzheimer's disease and he wasn't going to be able to care for her because he was also in bad health, sheriff's officials said.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
