DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man was arrested Wednesday in connection with his wife's death in October, police said.
Simeka Daughtridge, 29, was found shot at 1100 Spruce St. on Oct. 30, and she died at Duke University Hospital.
Travis Lamont Daughtridge, 25, was charged with murder and was being held in the Durham County jail without bond.
Police said Travis Daughtridge told investigators that his wife shot herself, but the evidence didn't back up his story.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
