Woman is in critical condition
Sheriff’s deputies in Thurston County are investigating an attempted murder-suicide after a man was found dead and his wife was critically injured Wednesday morning.
Deputies responded to a home in the 9100 block of Steilacoom Road SE after a security alarm was tripped.
Inside the home, deputies found a dead man and a woman with a gunshot wound to the head, Thurston County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Greg Elwin said.
Investigators believe gunshots, rather than an intruder, triggered the alarm.
The unresponsive 51-year-old woman was rushed to St Josephs Hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Investigators said it appears the woman shot her husband to death and then attempted to kill herself.
"Our preliminary investigation indicates this was a murder with an attempted suicide," Elwin said. "We are not looking for a suspect. There is no indication that this was any kind of a burglary or a robbery."

We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
