SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Police arrest a man they say confessed to choking to death his girlfriend.
It was a call to police asking them to check on the welfare of a 39 year old woman that led them to an awful discovery inside of a home on 5th North and 2nd West.
Jennifer Schubach was found dead allegedly strangled by the arms of her boyfriend, 42 year old Todd Eugene Anderson, who investigators say confessed to killing her after a heated argument.
“He did indicate that he did choke her,” says Sgt. Shawn Josephson, Salt Lake City Police.
According to the probable cause statement it states Anderson confessed to killing his girlfriend by strangling her with his arms, which he referred to as the “rear naked choke” causing her death. This information seems to be all the Salt Lake City police know about the crime.
They do not know how the fight started, how long the two have been dating, or if any children were present at the time. They do have Anderson in custody and Shubach’s body is now with the Medical Examiner.
A compilation of daily news articles from around the United States about deaths (including both people and animals) that appear to occur in the context of a past or present intimate relationship, focusing on 2009-present. (NOTE: this blog is limited to incidents that appear in the media and are captured by our search terms. We recognize this is not an exhaustive portrayal of all deaths resulting from intimate violence.) When is society going to realize intimate violence makes victims of us all?
