COLFAX, CA - Placer County sheriff's detectives booked a Colfax man into custody on suspicion of homicide following what investigators believe was a domestic dispute turned deadly Sunday evening.
According to the sheriff's department, around 7:59 p.m., an off-duty police officer called for assistance after hearing a gunshot on Catskill Drive, investigating and finding a woman dead on the porch of a home.
The officer held two men at gunpoint at the residence until backup arrived. After questioning the pair, sheriff's detectives arrested Lee Konnerth, 35. The other man was released.
The victim was Konnerth's girlfriend, Sarah Burr, 30, of Grass Valley, according to the sheriff's department. The preliminary cause of death was a gunshot.
